Marie

Let them eat cake. Marie tells the story of Marie Antoinette, the young queen whose world of glittering excess ended at the guillotine. Sia’s “Chandelier” and the grandeur of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 paint a life of luxury at Versailles, while Incubus’ “Megalomaniac” hints at the arrogance that turns a nation against its queen. As revolution sweeps across France, Mozart’s “Lacrimosa” and Grieg’s Funeral March mourn all that is lost, and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique leads Marie to her final moment. A dramatic tale of power, excess and its price.
